Our story
We’re Dorsa and Mehdi, a husband-and-wife team who came to Sherwood with one goal: to bring new life, warmth, and personality back into a local pub we truly believe in. Hospitality has shaped so much of our journey — from running restaurants and pubs across the UK to building a place that feels like home for everyone who walks in.
When we took over The Crafty Teller, we stepped in with zero shortcuts: long nights, learning the building inside-out, fixing what needed fixing, and listening carefully to the community. We reopened the kitchen, created menus that blend familiar British comfort with a touch of Persian flavour, and set out to build a pub where people feel welcomed, appreciated, and part of something growing.
What Crafty Teller Is About
Crafty Teller is a neighbourhood pub built around three things: great food, great drinks, and genuine community. We take the spirit of a classic British pub and add our own twist — warm service, honest prices, and a menu that blends familiar favourites with subtle Persian influences.
We focus on quality over complication: fresh roasts, comforting breakfasts, proper pub classics, signature sauces made with real saffron, well-kept cask ales, and cocktails you can enjoy any day of the week.
Crafty Teller is not just a place to eat or drink — it’s a place to meet. A place for families, friends, locals, brunch lovers, roast regulars, music fans, and anyone who wants to feel welcomed. We host vinyl nights, live music, community events, and weekly updates so everyone stays connected to what’s happening behind the scenes.
